On Saturday 19 October, Semaphore hosted the Toronto chapter of the Canadian Association of Girls in Science (CAGIS) for a workshop on wearable computing.
The workshop was led by PhD candidate ginger coons, and assisted by PhD candidate Jenna Jacobson and Lab coordinator Amy Ratelle. Participants made their own "secret handshake" mittens, which would light up a small LED light when the conductive fabric panels were correctly pressed together.
Well received by both the attendees and their parents, future collaborations may be in the works for 2014.
